A born and raised big city girl with deep Southern roots who relocated to less than two hours where her family history began, I’m equal parts sweet tea and vodka on the rocks. That means I’m nice, but I pack a mean punch. Tough (but moisturized) skin, a healthy serving of ambition, combined with a whole lot of hustle and a huge dollop of grace is what has helped me become a trendsetter and leader in the industry. (Wait, am I Hallmark movie heroine??)
Getting started as a wedding planner with no experience, I piece-mealed, DIY’ed, changed company names, logos, and more– just doing anything to make it in this business. A few scraped knees, bruises, investments, and triumphs later, my wedding planning firm is one of the most sought-after companies in my area. As a speaker, educator, and coach my goal that’s at the forefront of everything I do is to be who I needed when I got started.
My approach to wedding industry education is very simple:
Keep. It. Real.
Many wedding professionals, from the brand new ingenue to the seasoned vet, are always striving to take their business to the next level. Many look to small group workshops or large conferences for insight, motivation, and education. After the success stories are told and the parties are over, what did you learn? What can you replicate for your own model?
My goal is to share my knowledge and experience within the industry (both good and bad!) in a way that translates into workable methods to enhance your business. I never want to leave you with the final thought of, “Okay…that sounds great, but– how?”. You’ll relate to all my stories and suggestions because I’ve been there in the trenches with you. No fluff, baby. I’ll tell you the truth: the running joke in the industry is that I’ll tell you if your “baby” (read: business) is ugly!
I want you to succeed. When you do great, you raise the bar for our industry, which helps all of us. I truly believe that we all have the potential to make this industry great– by learning from and teaching each other.
